Eileen B. (Benson) Woodford

Eileen B. Woodford, 82, of Williamstown, NJ, formerly of Old Bridge, NJ, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, March 13, 2017 surrounded by her family.

Eileen was born August 23, 1934 to Fred & Mary Benson in Brooklyn, N.Y.  She graduated St. Joseph High School, Brooklyn NY in 1952 and went on to work as a buyer for the U.S. Navy. In 1957 she married Nicholas Woodford at Our Lady of Perpetual Help.  They moved to New Jersey where she was a homemaker, and mother of three.  She was the Librarian for Sacred Heart Grammar School for 25 years where she enjoyed sharing the world with all of the children that passed through her doors.  She was very active in parish and school activities and served on many committees with the PTA.  After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband, either cruising to the islands, or driving all along the east coast to shop, relax, and watch the changing of the leaves!  Her most happy times were spent with her children, grandchildren, and most recently, her beautiful great-grandchildren.

Beloved wife of the late Nicholas P. Woodford. Devoted mother of Eileen (Richard) Jacobi, Patricia (Charles) Conte and the late Michael J. Woodford. Dear sister of Johanne Scott, and the late Francine Benson. Sister-in-law to Joan McCartney, Thomas (Florence) Woodford, George (Dorothy) Woodford, Lilly Cross, Sr. Ann Woodford and the late William (Evelyn) Woodford. Loving grandmother of Michael (Dawn) Jacobi, James (Patricia) Jacobi, Daniel Jacobi, Charles Conte, Kelly (Tyler) Dornewass and Dana Conte. Loving great grandmother of Ava Marie Jacobi and Cole Andrew Jacobi.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Saturday, March 18, 2017 at St. Bernadette Church, 20 Villanova Road, Parlin NJ. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
