Florence M. (Astolfi) Placentra

Florence M. Placentra (nee Alstolfi), of Franklinville, peacefully passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018 at her home with her loving family.

Mom lived 91 years - some of the most transformative in the history of our country. Through everything, Mom and Dad were always there. No matter what was going on outside, down the street, across the nation, around the world. They were there. Friends and family loved stopping by, especially at dinner time, because Mom would greet them by saying, “Have you eaten anything? Here sit down.” Always. After Dad died four years ago, Mom slowed a little, but she was still there, doing what she always did. Now that she’s gone to join him, they are together again as they always were here. And we will all remember her sweet smile, funny cackling laugh, fantastic cooking, and the love she showed us, her grandkids, her friends, and everyone she met. Always.

Beloved wife of the late John Placentra. Devoted mother of Joseph Placentra (Kim), Theresa Placentra-Karson (Bruce) and Michael Placentra (Amy). Dear sister of the late Anna Pasquale, the late Helen Troilo, the late Marie Pinto, the late Daniel Astolfi and the late Joseph Astolfi. Loving grandmother of Joseph (Amy), Nicholas (Samantha), Vivienne and Michael Placentra.  Loving great grandmother of Antonio.  She was also the proud aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to Florence’s viewing on Thursday, February 8th from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Parish / St. Catherine of Siena R.C. Church, 700 N. Delsea Drive, Clayton, NJ 08312. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Interment at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown, NJ.

Arrangements are under the direction of the BELL-HENNESSY FUNERAL HOME, Williamstown.
