James P. Rutter, 80, of Williamstown, passed away peacefully, on Saturday December 22, 2018, with his loving family by his side.
Jim is survived by his loving and caring wife Barbara (nee Fritsche) of 51 years. Beloved son of the late James and late Catherine Rutter. Loving son-in-law of the late Richard and Elizabeth Fritsch. Devoted father of James (Jennifer) Rutter Jr. and Patricia (David) Travis. Dear brother-in-law of the late Susan (the late John) Logiovino. Loving grandfather of Cody, Cameron, Cullen, Grace, Jack, and Claire. Loving great grandfather of Averianna. He is also survived by his niece and nephews.
Jim graduated from Lasalle University and went on to serve in the United States Army. After serving, he went on to become a banker, retiring in 2003 as a Fiscal Officer for the state of NJ. He was a devout Catholic. He was also a former member of the Williamstown Rotary and in his earlier years enjoyed coaching Monroe Twp. Youth Soccer and Little League Baseball. He was his children’s and grandchildren’s biggest fan at their sporting events. Most of all he was a devoted husband, proud father, grandfather and great grandfather. A good friend, neighbor, coach, volunteer, teacher, mentor, and colleague to many.
Relatives and relatives are invited to his viewing on Friday, December 28th from 9:00 – 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church / Our Lady of Peace Parish, Main St. & Carroll Ave., Williamstown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Interment with Military Honors Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations, in memory of James Rutter, be made to the Veterans Memorial Home, Veterans Center, 524 NW Blvd., Vineland, NJ 08360.
