Louis A. Palumbo, 79, of Williamstown, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
Beloved husband of Antonia (nee Gerace) for 55 years. Devoted father of Rosemarie (Anthony) Branda, Joseph Palumbo and Eric (Dana) Palumbo. Dear brother of Margaret (John) Romolini. Loving grandfather of Giana, Talia and Anthony. Loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Louis was born and raised in Philadelphia and has been a resident of Williamstown for over 40 years. He left Southern High School in Philadelphia at age 16 to enter the United States Navy from which he retired in 1959. He was very proud to be a Veteran of the United States and was instrumental in founding the office of the Veteran's Affair in Williamstown. He was very active in his community and in his earlier years he was president of the Monroe Township Little League and founded the "KO" Boxing Club on Radix Road. Louis was a devout Catholic and enjoyed ushering and helping out In any way he could at St. Mary's Church. Most of all Louis was a kindhearted, gentle soul who loved unconditionally and effortlessly. His most precious time was the time he spent with his family especially his grandchildren. Louis will be sorely missed by all he encountered.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday 7:00 – 9:00 PM and Saturday 8:30 – 9:30 AM at the BELL-HENNESSY FUNERAL HOME, 420 S. Main St., Williamstown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Parish / St. Mary's RC Church, 32 Carroll Ave., Williamstown. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Williamstown.
