Carmen Staino, 85, of Williamstown, NJ, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024, in the comfort of his home.
Carmen was born on November 14, 1938, in Philadelphia, PA. He proudly grew up in “South Philadelphia”. Married 60 years to his wife Rose “Peachie” for 60 years. Later lived in Wenonah, NJ, then raised their family of 4 sons in Bellmawr, NJ for 35 years before residing in Williamstown.
Carmen was instrumental along with Bill Hagerty in starting the Street Hockey League in Bellmawr. He coached Little League Baseball in Bellmawr as well. He proudly served in USMC for 6 years. He was an active member of the Marine Corp League Department 1775 in Oaklyn, NJ. There he served as commandant for 2 years. Also, he was a member of the Veterans Advisory Council, American Legion Post 252 in Williamstown and Mothers Military Support Group of South Jersey in Blackwood, NJ. He participated in Stand Down for the homeless veterans in the area every September. He had a passion for collecting and distributing toys for the USMC Toys for Tots campaign every year.
He is survived by his beloved wife Rose (nee Lucia). He is the loving father of Michael (Laura), Gregory (Rhonda), Christopher and Jeffrey (Shannon). He was the fun-loving grandfather of Domenic, Rachael, Emily, Kayla, Michael, John, Brett and Margaret “Maggie”.
Relatives and friends and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, May 31st from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Parish / St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 32 Carroll Ave., Williamstown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM.
