Welcome to the memorial page for

John J. Scully

November 22, 1933 ~ July 27, 2017 (age 83) 83 Years Old

John J. Scully, 83, of Williamstown, passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017.

John was extremely loving, fun and proud of being a father to his three children and a Pop-Pop to his seven grandchildren. He served in the Army, worked for the Philadelphia Bulletin, and was especially proud of his time spent as an umpire-people recognized him everywhere! Nothing gave him more joy than watching his grandchildren do what they loved; whether it was Karly's dance recitals, Steven's baseball, Johnny's basketball, Lauren and Samantha's volleyball, Connor's soccer or Ryleigh cheerleading. He was and always will be their biggest fan. When anyone encountered John, they met a proud man who always had an amazing sense of humor and was immediately adored by all. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. John would want everyone to remember him sitting on the beach at sunset surrounded by friends and family telling jokes.

Beloved husband of Janice (nee Stone) for 57 years.  Devoted father of John (Patricia) Scully, Trish (Doug) Chance and the late Karen (Vince) Trovarelli.  Loving grandfather of Karly, Steven, Johnny, Lauren, Connor, Samantha and Ryleigh.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewings on Tuesday 7:00 – 9:00 PM and Wednesday 8:30 – 9:30 AM at the BELL-HENNESSY FUNERAL HOME, 420 S. Main St., Williamstown.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Parish / St. Mary’s Church, Main St. & Carroll Ave., Williamstown.  Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown.
