Alain "Frenchy" J. Arsenault

Alain J. Arsenault, affectionately known as “Frenchy,” 82, of Franklinville, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 15, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Born and raised in Bonaventure, Québec, Canada, Frenchy later made his home in Bayonne, New Jersey, before settling in South Jersey. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his family. Frenchy started his career as a lineman with Hydro-Québec, later working for Bayonne Industries, and finally working as a lineman for Atlantic City Electric for many years, earning the respect and admiration of his coworkers throughout a long and distinguished career.

Frenchy was a faithful Catholic and treasured the time spent with his family. He especially enjoyed sharing stories of his Canadian roots and creating lasting memories with those he loved. He also loved horseback riding, camping, traveling, and cutting wood in his backyard. He loved to grill on his porch and hosted many parties and barbecues over the years. He also loved deep-sea fishing with his family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman and lived life to the fullest.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Ghislaine (née Cousin); his sons, Tony (Sheryl) Arsenault and James (Leea) Arsenault; his grandchildren, Melissa (Jeremy) Manon and Alain Arsenault; his sister, Diane Williams of Montreal, Canada, his brother Jean Arsenault, and many loving relatives and friends. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bell-Hennessy Funeral Home, 420 S. Main Street, Williamstown, NJ 08094. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Franklin Township.

Frenchy will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering devotion to his family, and the kindness he extended to everyone he met. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
