Benjamin C. Wilber, 92, of Williamstown, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026.
Benjamin Conrad Wilbur was born on May 13, 1933, in Philadelphia. He graduated from South Philadelphia Highschool in 1951 and received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Villanova University in 1955. During his time at Villanova he worked for George Nakashima, a highly regarded Japanese woodworker and furniture maker.
Ben served in the United States Naval Reserve for eight years, though he would get seasick in the bay. He worked in pure scientific research with ARCO Chemical Company for 29 years and after retiring from ARCO, he worked for the N.J. Department of Environmental Protection. He officially retired in 1995.
Beloved husband of Catherine (nee Mullen). Devoted father of Matthew Wilbur and the late Andrew (Nicole) Wilbur. Dear brother of the late Edwina Moran. Loving grandfather of Madeline.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Thursday, January 22nd from 8:30 – 9:30 AM at the Bell-Hennessy Funeral Home, 420 S. Main St., Williamstown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Parish / St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 32 Carroll Ave., Williamstown, NJ 08094. Inurnment Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
