Elizabeth “Betty” Jewell, 83, of Shelby, NC, formerly of Williamstown, peacefully, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at her home.

Betty was born Monday, October 12, 1942 in Camden, New Jersey to the late Charles D. and Isabel Eirich. She worked for many years as a Slot Supervisor for Resorts International in Atlantic City. Betty’s passion was spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Louette Grafe and a daughter-in-law, Anne Mathis-Grafe.

Those left to cherish her memory include sons, Robert Grafe, Jr. (Jeanine) of Wildwood, New Jersey and Richard Grafe, Sr. of Shelby; grandchildren, Eric Grafe, Richard Grafe, Jr. (Janie), Danielle Miller; great grandchildren, Siera Miller, Aryelle Miller (Zo), Jaxen Miller, Juliette Grafe, Oliver Grafe and a great great-grandchild, Kamjii McNeal.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Tuesday, May 19th from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at the Bell-Hennessy Funeral Home, 420 S. Main St., Williamstown. Memorial Service 1:00 PM. Inurnment will follow at Atco Cemetery, Atco.
