Emma R. Fortino

Emma Rose Fortino (nee DeVece) ,94, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022 at her home after a long illness.

Emma married her beloved husband Frank J. Fortino, July 24, 1948 in her childhood parish Sacred Heart in Riverton, and they were married for 53 years until Frank’s death in 2001.  They lived in Cinnaminson for over 35 years.  She was a school bus driver there for over 20 years.   

Emma was an avid bowler.  She was also an exceptional cook.  She had a green thumb which showed in her many houseplants, rose bushes and her summer vegetable gardens.  She loved the outdoors, especially the beach.  She and Frank retired to Port St. Lucie, FL and Long Beach Island, NJ where she enjoyed crabbing, clamming and fishing.  They later moved to Tabernacle NJ, and finally to Williamstown for the final 21 years of her life.

She was predeceased in death by her beloved husband Frank, her parents Alfonso and Rosa (nee Licursi), her older brothers Samuel DeVece (Josephine) and Alfred DeVece (Jane) and her baby sister Theresa DeVece Snyder (Frank).

Devoted mother of Rosemary (Joseph Sr.) Genova, Michael Fortino and Francis Fortino.  Loving grandmother of Angela Novak (Anthony), Michelle Hozalski (Joseph) and Joseph Genova Jr. (Jennifer).  Loving great grandmother of Anthony & Nicholas Novak, Joseph & Michael Hozalski & Isabella & Joseph Genova.  Dear sister of William DeVece (Anne) and Carmen DeVece (Marie).  Also surviving are many cousins, nieces and nephews.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday, February 28th from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM at BELL-HENNESSY FUNERAL HOME, 420 South Main St., Williamstown.  Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 12 noon at Our Lady of Peace Parish / St. Mary’s RC Church, 32 Carroll Ave., Williamstown.  Private Burial for family only Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson.
