Howard D. Brown III, age 74, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023.
Born to Howard Jr. and Josephine (Davi), Howard (known as HB) graduated from Williamstown High School and then received a BA from Glassboro State College with a degree in Industrial Arts. He taught drafting and cabinet making at Deptford High School for 13 years. He simultaneously started Brown's Landscaping which he operated for 25 years. He soon left teaching as his abilities in landscaping and building led him to work on a variety of casinos for MGM including Borgata and Ocean in Atlantic City, Beau Rivage in Mississippi, City Center in Las Vegas and MGM in Springfield, Massachusetts. He also worked on projects for Tishman Construction.
Howard was best known for his determination to do everything with perfection, quick wit, to make anyone laugh and the innate ability to be the life of the party at any social gathering.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Halina (Opanowski), his son Howard IV "Howie" and his wife Jaclyn (Senior) and his grandchildren Luke and Grace.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday, December 29th from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Parish / St. Mary's R.C. Church, 32 Carroll Ave., Williamstown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Williamstown.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Howard's memory can be made to St. Joseph's Preparatory School,1733 W Girard Ave., Philadelphia PA 19130.
