James P. Gallagher, Sr., 87, of Franklinville, NJ, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, November 10, 2023.
One of James’ favorite pastimes was going to the racetrack to watch horse racing. He also enjoyed playing cards with his lifelong family and friends, sipping a Jameson & Ginger, visiting the Jersey Shore, cruise vacations and Disney vacations with his family.
Beloved husband of the late Joan (nee Burgy). Devoted father of Barbara "Bunny" (Paul) Kobie, Nancy (the late Edward) Cummins, Joanne (Martin) Keane, Colleen (Michael) Thompson and the late James Gallagher Jr.
Dear brother of Mary “Annie”Francisco, Charles (Anna) Gallagher, Elsie Shaw, Nancy (Walter) Bosak and Thomas (Carol) Gallagher. Predeceased by his siblings Robert Gallagher, John “Jackie” Gallagher, Helen Baranowski, Francis Gallagher, William Gallagher, and Joseph Gallagher.
Loving grandfather of James (Melissa), Megan, Amanda (Ira), Sean (Samantha), Edward (Kayla), Brian (Ashley), Dylan (Courtney), Kelly (James), Andrew (Jessie), Amber (Chris), Casi (Walter), Michael (Calli), Joseph, Martin (Zoe), and Reagan. Great-grandfather to 19 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday, November 17th 9:30-11:00 AM at the Bell-Hennessy Funeral Home, 420 S. Main St., Williamstown, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 AM at Our Lady of Peace Parish / St. Mary's R.C. Church, Main St. and Carroll Ave., Williamstown, NJ. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Franklin Twp., NJ.
