James J. Winkler

James J. Winkler, 74, of Newfield, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023.

James was a proud Marine Vietnam Veteran, receiving a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for his service.  He held a lifetime membership to the Marine Corps League, Semper Fidelis Detachment, served as a Past Commandant and Devil Dogs Pound 96.  He was also a member of the 2nd Bn. Recon Association. Retired Teamster local 701 with Roadway Express.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting and time spent with his family and friends.

Beloved husband of Mary Winkler (nee Jackson) of 48 years.   Devoted father of James (Rose) Winkler.  Dear brother of Eileen (Harry) Klemowitz, Caroline Winkler, late Barbara Miller, late Evelyn Winkler and late Dymphna Winkler.  Loving grandfather of Mary, Robert and Kaitlyn. Dear friend of John (Rene) Wilson, Jr., and John (Melissa) Tomlin, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday, June 7th from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the BELL-HENNESSY Funeral Home, 420 South Main St., Williamstown. Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 AM.  Interment with Military Honors Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown.
