John H. Walters, “Jack”, passed away peacefully holding hands with his favorite person, his wife of 62 years, Carole (Dettmer) on February 7th, 2024, at the age of 83. After a 7-year battle with Pancreatic Cancer, he was able to spend the last week of his life at his daughters’ house surrounded by his family.
Jack was a loving father of John (Stephanie), Joseph, Mark, Kathy Vecchio (Dan), Matthew, Karen Webb (Greg). He is survived by his siblings Kathleen Wilson (John), Maureen Bednarz (Gene), and Tim (Eileen). Predeceased by his sister Joyce. He is survived by 21 grandchildren, 9 great- grandchildren, 1 on the way, and many other loving family members and friends.
Jack served in the United States Army. He worked many years as a Chemist for Rohm and Haas and for the past 15 years he worked for Caesars Casino as a limo driver. Jack loved the finer things in life, like Cheez-Its and a good hot dog, classical music, and spending time with his family. He was a faithful Catholic and attended daily Mass for many years. He was a 20+ year “Man of Malvern” and a 4th degree Knight of Columbus. His sarcastic sense of humor will be greatly missed.
Relatives and Friends are invited to his viewing on Tuesday, February 13th from 10:00-11:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Parish / St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Main St., Williamstown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Franklin Twp.
