Letterina "Lee" Iannacone Obituary

Letterina Iannacone née DiMartino, 95, of Williamstown, NJ – formerly of Valley Forge and Philadelphia – passed away peacefully on November 27th.

Lee was predeceased by her husband, Ben, 53 years ago, as well as her sisters Cindy, Sara, Laura, Rose, Lucy and brothers Felix and Martin.  She is survived by her daughters Amelia Rumpf and Kathy Iannacone, grandchildren John and Stephanie Rumpf, bonus granddaughter Jen (Garry) Gray and their children Maison and Wynn as well as her sister Annie.

Lee, a graduate of Upper Merion High School, was an avid bowler, “gym rat”, and ballroom dancer; she was quite proud of the gold medal she won in an international contest in Spain.  She was a Rosie the Riveter whose story is on display at the Rosie the Riveter World War II Home Front National Historical Park.

Lee was known and loved by many, always ready with a joke and a story. She is often cited as an inspiration for those much younger. When asked the secret to her longevity, she usually answered, “Just keep moving.”

Relatives and friends are invited to join Lee’s family for her viewing Thursday evening 7-9 PM and Friday morning 8:30 – 9:30 AM at the Bell Hennessy Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Parish / St. Mary's Church, Main St. & Carroll Ave., Williamstown.  Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Williamstown.
