It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lorier Ashburn, who gracefully departed from this world on December 15, 2024, at the age of 67. Lorier was born on November 16, 1957, in Philadelphia PA. Lorier retired from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where she worked as a Respiratory Technician. She was also a proud resident of Williamstown, NJ where she resided for over 15 years, working as a bus aide for Student Transportation of America (STA) and later a paraprofessional at Monroe Township School District.
She was a beacon of light, living each moment to its fullest and embracing each day with joy and gratitude. Her radiant smile touched all who knew her, and her laughter was a balm to those around her.
As a devoted mother and grandmother, Lorier poured her heart into her family, especially her beloved daughter Laquita and treasured grandson Jeremiah. It was through her immense love for them that she found her greatest joy and purpose. Lorier cherished every moment she spent with her family, whether it was watching her grandson Jeremiah play football, shopping or watching movies on the Lifetime Movie Network with her daughter Laquita, or laughing at her son-in-law Divon’s jokes. Her love knew no bounds, and she consistently placed the needs of others above her own, embodying the true definition of selflessness and strength.
Lorier was not just a strong woman; she was a source of inspiration to all who knew her. Her kindness and spirit left an indelible mark on the lives of those she touched. In her presence, you felt valued and loved, and her laughter was contagious, filling the air with joy.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Regina White, mother Marie Ashburn, twin sister Jarier Ashburn, sister Frankie Ogden, and nephew Rashine Ashburn.
Lorier is survived by her daughter Laquita Conaway (White), grandson Jeremiah Conaway, son in law Divon Conaway, Niece Tisha (Tony)
McLean, great nephew Kyle (Sharnae) Haynes, and great niece Tashina Ashburn, who will carry forward her legacy of love, positivity, and resilience. Lorier also leaves behind many great nieces and nephews as well as extended family members and close friends.
Though she may no longer walk among us, her legacy of love and compassion will continue to shine brightly in our hearts. Lorier will be profoundly missed but forever remembered for the incredible woman she was.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday December 28th from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at the Bell-Hennessy Funeral Home, 420 S. Main Street, Williamstown, NJ. Friends and family are invited and encouraged to attend to share their memories, stories, and the impact she had on their lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) in her memory. https://give.bcrf.org
