Louis Palena, Sr. Obituary

Louis (Lou) J. Palena, Sr., (77) of Williamstown, NJ passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021.  

Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1943, Lou met the love of his life, Georgia at the tender age of 16 and the couple raised their four wonderful children in Timber Lakes. Lou was a master in carpentry, wood working and construction. He could make and fix anything and everything. Just ask any one of his six grandchildren. Lou loved his family dearly and was everyone’s friend especially anyone named Joey or Louie!  Crafting together on weekdays, Lou and Georgia took their show on the road most weekends and had amazing experiences at craft fairs all over the tri-state area. Lou was a Member of the Knights of Columbus, former Monroe Township Councilman, Board Member of the Monroe Municipal Utilities Authority, past President of UCC of South Jersey and Tri-County Construction Code Association. He was a retired Building Official having served in Monroe Township, Washington Township and Carney’s Point. Most recently, Lou was employed as the current Construction Official of Commercial Township.

Beloved husband of Georgia (nee Pace) for 56 years. Devoted father of Georgia Murphy, Lisa (Daniel) Brooks, Louis (Louie) Palena and Michael (Wendy) Palena. Loving Poppy of Ryan, Nicole, Andrew, Alexa, Mia and Mason. Dear brother of Elaine (Anthony) DelVecchio, Anthony (Jenny) Palena. Dear brother-in-law of Joseph J. (Regina) Pace, Louis J. Pace, Suzan Pace. Loved by nieces and nephews.

Due to inclement weather the Funeral Services have been RESCHEDULED.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Saturday, February 20th from 9:30 - 11:30 at the Bell-Hennessy Funeral Home, 420 S. Main Street, Williamstown. Funeral Mass will be held  12:00 PM at  Our Lady of Peace Parish / St. Mary's RC Church, 32 Carroll Ave. Williamstown. Entombment All Saints Cemetery, Newfield.
