Margaret "Peg" E. Crofton

Margaret “Peg” E. Crofton (nee Callahan), 82, of Williamstown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 6, 2023, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. 

Prior to retiring, Peg was a bus driver for Laidlaw for many years. She was an active member of the St. Mary’s Folk Group for over 30 years.  She will be remembered for celebrating the tradition of St. Patrick’s Day.   Peg loved traveling and camping with her husband and their favorite spot was Assateague State Park on the beach.  She always enjoyed hosting parties for her beloved Eagles away games.

Her grandchildren were her heart.  Peg cherished the times spent with them. Caring and giving came natural to her.  Peg left a big smile on everyone’s face.

Beloved wife of Richard G. Crofton for 63 years.  Devoted mother of Richard (Barbara) Crofton, Teresa (John) Casey, Stephen (Gail) Crofton, David (LoriAnn) Crofton and JoAnn (Thomas) Moss.  Dear sister of William (Dorothy) Callahan, Nancy (late Rob) Taylor the late Ethel Callahan and the late Joe Callahan.  Loving grandmother of 12 grandchildren. Loving great-grandmother of 8 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Thursday, May 11th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and on Friday, May 12th from 9:00 – 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Parish / St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 32 Carroll Ave., Williamstown.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM.  Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Williamstown.
