Mary Borza Obituary

Mary Borza ( nee Wolstromer), 101, a longtime resident of Williamstown and spent the last three years at Juniper Village in Williamstown, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021.

Beloved wife of the late Joseph Borza, Devoted mother of Marian (late Peter) Grello, Linda (George) Ferland, Patricia (Greg) Gack and Janice (Wes) Pohler. Loving grandmother of Peter, Robert, Christine, George, Paul, Joseph, Christopher and Melissa. Loving great grandmother of Charles, Lauren, Amanda, Ashley, Keegan, Hailey, Kayla, Andrew, Isabella, Emma, Darien, Katerina, Abigail, Elizabeth, Matthew, Jacob and Joel. Mary was predeceased by her 7 brothers and 1 sister.

Mary was born in Hungary in 1920 and immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 17. Mary led a great life. She was a loving wife and wonderful mother. A kind and caring person to all she met. Mary was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Parish. Her strong faith and love of Jesus kept her going all these years.

She loved her family, always remarking “I have the best family.” Mary loved to cook, cooking many dishes she learned in her home country of Hungry. She loved to sing for her family. Her daughters mentioned often how they remember her singing around the house as she took care of them and her husband. Mary and Joseph liked to dance. They would attend many functions at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Williamstown where you could find them on the dance floor dancing the polka or a waltz. They also enjoyed spending many days golfing at Wedgewood Country Club together. Mary loved to crochet. She would always make the first baby outfit for each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. As the children grew she would crochet them hats and scarves to keep them warm in the winter. She continued her love of crocheting at Juniper Village where she crocheted hats for newborn babies.

Mary will be sadly missed by all whose lives she touched.
