Mary E. Collins (nee Richards), 100, of Williamstown, passed away peacefully, on Saturday morning, April 27, 2024.
Beloved wife of the late Robert “Milt” Collins. Beloved mother of Ken (Dianne) Collins. Predeceased by her loving parents Jacob and Ida Richards and her six siblings. Loving grandmother of Ken Jr. (Karen) Collins, Jimmy (Angie) Collins and Bryan (Allison) Collins. Loving great grandmother of Kristine (Anel) Kalabic, Daniel (Cailin) Collins, Brendan Collins, Matthew Collins, Kaycee and Patrick Collins. Loving great-great grandmother of Nathan and Noah Kalabic.
Mary was an incredibly dedicated and compassionate person, making a significant impact on her community through her volunteer work at the Pfeiffer Community Center luncheon program for over 25 years. It's heartwarming to hear that she was recognized as Volunteer of the Year and received various other awards for her service. Her passion for baking cakes, especially for her grandchildren's birthdays, adds a personal touch to her caring nature. It's evident that Mary's kindness and generosity have touched many lives over the years.
Mary's 100th birthday celebration was absolutely spectacular! Surrounded by loved ones, Philadelphia Eagles cheerleaders, a live band, and even fire trucks, it was an unforgettable event. The presence of eight different types of birthday cakes undoubtedly added to the joy and festivities, showcasing Mary's love for baking and her family's desire to make her milestone birthday truly special. It's wonderful to hear that her celebration received recognition and was featured on Channel 6 Action News, highlighting the significance of her remarkable life and the impact she's had on her community.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Wednesday, May 8th from 10:00 AM -12:00 PM at the Bell-Hennessy Funeral Home, 420 South Main, Williamstown. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 PM. Interment Cross Keys Methodist Cemetery.
