Nancy Marie Schneeweiss Moran, 76, of Williamstown, went to be with the Lord. She passed away peacefully with her sons by her side on April 20, 2021. She loved life and people and was much loved by her family and friends.
She was born on February 17, 1945 in Vineland, New Jersey to Henry F. and Marian C. Schneeweiss of Newfield where she lived her childhood. Nancy loved people, laughed easily, willingly volunteered to help with anything that needed to be done, and dedicated her life to helping others. After graduating from Vineland High School in 1963, she went on to Cooper Hospital School of Nursing, Camden, New Jersey, where she became an R.N. in September, 1966.
During the Vietnam War era, she joined the United States Air Force in 1967 earning the rank of Captain, and served at Eglin Air Force Base, Pensacola Florida until 1971. On October 19, 1968 in a military wedding at Eglin AFB, she married Capt. James E. Moran from Hargrave, Kansas. They were married for 32 years.
Nancy worked as a medical/surgical nurse for 35 years with 23 of those years at St. John’s Hospital in Leavenworth, Kansas. In 1999 she and Jim E. moved from Leavenworth to Williamstown, NJ. Nancy loved spending time with her family, having company, traveling, reading, and the warmth of other people and outdoor sunshine. She loved life and people and was much loved by her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, parents, and her younger sister Barbara in 1966.
She is survived by her sons: Craig M. Moran (Helena) and Christopher J. Moran (Lynette); four grandchildren: Tyler and Ian Moran, and Alexandra and Ryan Moran, and four stepchildren. two brothers: Henry F. Schneeweiss (Lynda) and Donald C. Schneeweiss (Firma Kay) and their children and grandchildren; four sisters-in law and their husbands: Roslyn Bethke (Del), Marla Williams (Phil), Gail Moran (Mark Hertig), and Nancy Ong (Chuck) and their children and grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held 12 Noon Friday, April 23rd at Our Lady of Peace Parish / St. Mary’s RC Church, 32 Carroll Ave., Williamstown, NJ 08094. Inurnment with Military Honors Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS at a later date.
