Peter Celeste

Peter Celeste, 83, of Williamstown, NJ, formerly of Atco, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025, surrounded by his family in the comfort of his home.

Born in Sulmona, Italy, to the late Antonio Celeste and Anita (nee DelSignore) on September 6, 1941. Peter led a full life as he enjoyed traveling, going to the casino, showing his pride in his Italian heritage, and watching Italian soccer 

Peter was a devoted husband to Vera (nee Fiorellini) for 51 wonderful years. Together, they raised a family built on strong values and unwavering support. He leaves behind his children: Peter (Christine) Celeste, Marco (Linnea) Celeste, Sabrina Celeste-Presby (Eddie Reyes), Anthony (Mary) Celeste, Louann (John) Grussenmeyer, and Albert Celeste. A dedicated grandfather to Marco (Tori), AJ, Eleesia, Gabe, Ciera, Christopher (Erica), Glenn (Amanda) along with great grandchildren.  

Peter was a hardworking man who built his career as a self-employed butcher and business owner. His strong work ethic and commitment to his craft were evident throughout his life. Above all, Peter found his greatest joy in spending time with his children and grandchildren, sharing in their laughter and milestones. He was also passionate about animals, particularly his beloved dog, Rusty, who brought him comfort and companionship.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Tuesday, August 5th, from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at Bell-Hennessy Funeral Home, 420 S. Main St., Williamstown. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM, with entombment at Berlin Cemetery in Berlin.

Peter's legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him, especially his family, who will miss his warmth, wisdom, and the love he so freely gave.
