Randy Drue Johnston, beloved father, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on April 21, 2024, at the age of 60, in Bellmawr, NJ.
Born August 14, 1963, in Columbus, GA, Randy, from a young age, brought laughter and joy to everyone he met with his silly and unique sense of humor, and was the definition of a "give you the shirt off his back" kind of guy. Above all else, he loved his family, especially his son Randy, or "Bud" as Randy liked to call him. Randy was famous for giving everyone around him nicknames, often funny, more often goofy, and sometimes just downright head scratching.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents Bobby Eugene Johnston and Violet Loudermilk Gruber and his older brother Charles Eugene Johnston.
Randy is survived by his son Randy Drue Johnston, Jr, brother Gary Johnston(Donna), sister Candy Teal(Steve), sister-in-law Lisa Johnston, nieces and nephews Ashley Hernandez (Bobby), Jeremy Head, Jenna Ruiz (Gabe), Brian Johnston, Caroline Johnston, Nick Johnston (Lindsey), Christopher Johnston (Lainey), former wife Nancy Lee Johnston and many great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins who will always remember fondly the smile he would bring to their faces with his humor and loving, caring ways.
Randy, who attended Hardaway High School in Columbus, GA was a very hard worker and jack-of-all-trades who could fix anything. He used those skills in jobs he held at Columbus Foundries in Columbus, Ga and the Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City. He owned Leisure Lawn Landscaping, a business he started and ran successfully for many years. He loved cars, fishing, gardening and studying history, but most of all he loved his family, who will miss his stories, his infectious personality, and the joy and love he shared so generously his entire life.
A celebration of life gathering of family and friends will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, May 18th at Chappell Falls Retreat, 1840 Central Church Road, Midland, GA 31820. Use Apple Maps, otherwise look for sign on Central Church Road. Casual dress code is encouraged.
