Rebecca E. Bowman

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Rebecca Eleaner Bowman, lovingly known as “Peggy,” who passed away on April 16, 2006, at the age of 79.

Peggy will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose love and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. She carried herself with warmth, strength, and compassion, and her presence brought comfort and joy to her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Clayton Bowman, Jr. 

Peggy’s legacy lives on through the family she loved so deeply. She is survived by her loving children, Christopher Bowman (son), Erin Bowman-Gavlick (daughter) and her husband, Daniel Gavlick. She was also a proud and cherished grandmother to Andrew Hillegass, Logan Bowman, and Evan Bowman, all of whom brought her great happiness. In addition, she is survived by her sisters, Theresa Hunter and Margaret Cremen along with extended family members and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

She will be remembered for her fierce spirit, her devotion to those closest to her, and the many memories she created that will be treasured for generations to come.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Tuesday, April 28th from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Bell-Hennessy Funeral Home, 420 S. Main St., Williamstown. Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 PM.  Inurnment Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown.

For those who would prefer to make a donation, Peggy was always sure to donate to the Lupus Foundation of America and Purple Heart. Both were near and dear to her heart. 

Peggy will be deeply missed, forever loved and always remembered.
