Thomas Wade Obituary

Thomas Wade, 83, of Williamstown, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, February 23, 2024.

Tom was a proud US Air Force Veteran. He spent over 4 years specializing as an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist. Tom traveled the world during his time in the military and fondly shared many joyful memories with family and friends. Tom was honorably discharged and awarded a Good Conduct Medal in 1963.

After his time in the military, Tom began his career as an educator. He taught woodworking at the Charles Lewis Middle School for over 35 years. He enjoyed sharing his craft with many students and helped them to create functional pieces of art from raw timber that they could bring home. Tom was a skilled woodworker and proud that he and his late wife, Ann, built their own house.

Tom liked fishing not as much for the sport as for the scenery and places that it introduced to him. He enjoyed family vacations during the summertime having visited the 48 contiguous states by car. Tom always went with the flow during these family trips, celebrating the many stops and destinations along the way that his wife and daughters planned. Tom loved participating in game night with his daughters. Even when his luck plummeted when hit with a draw four card in UNO, he cared more about the joy of spending time together, than winning the game.

Beloved husband of the late Ann Wade. Son of the late William and Edna Wade (Bowen). Devoted father of Mary Ellen Wade, Catherine Mazzella (Wade), and the late Donald Wade. Dear brother of Rosemary Wear, Edna Snyder, Vivian Jones, Deborah Coumbe, William Wade, and the late John Wade. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Labre Indian School or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
