Warren D. Colomy

Warren D. Colomy, 87, of Newfield, New Jersey, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at home with his loving family by his side. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Warren had lived in Newfield for 64 years.

Beloved husband of Maria (nee Mellies) for 64 years. Devoted father of David Colomy (long-time companion, Pamela Gober, and their grandson, Michael Sydney Helvig) and Heidi (Mark) Horner. Loving grandfather of Paige (Andrew) Brown and Madison Cresci. Doting great-grandfather of Audrey Brown. Dear brother of Raymond Colomy, Richard Colomy, and Diane Franco, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother, Margaurite Colomy (nee Fry), father Roy Colomy, brothers Roy, Charles, Robert, and Oliver Colomy, and his sisters Evelyn Harbolt, Mary Jane Erb, and Doris Bojaciuk.

Warren was a go-getter from early on, bringing a love of food and hospitality to the Polish American Club, the “Adriatic.” One day, while visiting his ill mother at Episcopal Hospital in Philadelphia, he met the love of his life, a beautiful young lady from across the Atlantic, Maria Louise Mellies. And so began the love story and legacy of Warren and Maria. Their home was constantly filled with relatives and friends enjoying delicious meals while exchanging stories and sharing laughter and love. They fostered a place where everyone was welcome and left feeling better than when they arrived. Warren and his dear wife, Maria, bestowed upon their children, grandchildren, and extended family a deep sense of familial pride, perseverance, and commitment. They enjoyed some extraordinary travel adventures, but what they both loved most was being in the home they built and worked so hard to make a place where everyone wanted to be. Warren went home to the Lord in that home surrounded by his immediate family who love him dearly and miss him immensely.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday, May 8th from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at St. Rose of Lima Church/Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish, 104 Catawba Ave., Newfield, New Jersey. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM. Interment Rose Hill Cemetery, Newfield, New Jersey.
