ROBERT A. HENNESSY

1949-2018

Robert A. Hennessy was a 1967 graduate of Oakcrest High School. He graduated from Atlantic County Community College and later graduated from McAllister Institute of Mortuary Science in New York City where he received his funeral director license in 1974. After receiving his license, he worked for Adams Perfect Funeral Home in Northfield before working for Bell Funeral Home. He later decided to move to Williamstown in 1978 and work under John S. Bell. Soon after in 1980, Robert purchased the funeral home and it became what is known as today, Bell-Hennessy Funeral Home, Inc. Robert is a former member of the New Jersey State Funeral Director’s Association. He is a member of St. Mary’s Church and a former lector. He is a former member and past president of Williamstown Rotary and a Paul Harris Fellow. He is a 4th degree member of Knights of Columbus Mater Christi Council #3352. He is an avid golfer and a member of Wedgewood Country Club in Sewell. He enjoys ballroom dancing, competes in local competitions and competed at the “Dancing with Stars Slim Fast Challenge” in Atlantic City along side his wife. He and his wife, Diane, resided in Williamstown on the funeral home property for over 40 years.  Robert passed away in the warmth and comfort of his family at his home on October 10, 2018.

Robert was a 1992 graduate of St. Augustine Prep in Richland. He was a 1996 graduate of Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA where he received a B.A. in Sociology. As a member of the Moravian College Football Team, he achieved many team and personal accolades, most notably All-American Honors. He later attended and graduated from Mercer County Community College where he received his funeral director license in 2000. He is a member of the New Jersey State Funeral Director’s Association. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus Mater Christi Council #3352. Robert is a member of the St. Augustine Prep Athletic Hall of Fame. Robert, his wife Amy and their son Declan and daughter Lila reside in Williamstown.

PATRICK HENNESSY

Patrick Hennessy attended St. Augustine Prep and graduated from Williamstown High School in 1993. He attended Delaware College in Doylestown, PA and Rowan University. He later attended and graduated from Mercer County Community College where he received his funeral director license in 2001. He is a New Jersey Life Insurance Provider. He is a member of Knights of Columbus Mater Christi Council #3352. He is an active volunteer coach for Monroe Twp. Youth Athletics. Patrick and his wife, Jennifer and their children Gianna, Jayden, Maggie and Noah reside in Williamstown.
